Ok, Unholy dk here.  Was wondering what meta socket gem i should get for my new helm?

You will want the AP/Crit gem.

I tend to go for the Chaotic Skyflare.

Increased crit damage is nice, and the little extra crit rating doesn't hurt.

I also agree that the Chaotic is a good choice. I have also seen alot of the Earthseige is being used as well. It appears to be an easier gemming requirement. I personally have not seen an increase in the damage produced by using this meta in any of the simulations or dummy testing I have done.

For pure dps increase chaotic skyflare is BiS.  1 Nightmare tear takes care of 1 blue socket and put a sovereign dreadstone in another socket to activate the meta.

Nightmare Tear fulfills all of the socket bonuses, scales better with kings and gives more crit in raids and allows you to get an extra pure strength gem.
